PREVENTION EDUCATION
Beyond Survival uses prevention presentations, in collaboration with schools in Grays Harbor, to
provide age appropriate education on topics based on grade level.
PRE K-3RD GRADE
Early education begins with 4 primary topics. This covers aspects that focus on feelings, healthy communication, trusted adults and the difference between secrets & surprises.
Topics Include:
· Personal Safety
· Healthy Communication and Feelings
· Safe Boundaries and Personal Space
· Problem Solving Skills
7TH-8TH GRADE
Middle School education is designed as an introduction to our High School curriculum. Middle School and High School cover mostly the same topics, but in age appropriate ways. High School Prevention builds on the foundation of Middle School prevention.
Topics Include:
· Consent & Sexual Harassment
· Sex Trafficking
· Personal Safety
· Media Responsibility
· Bystander Intervention
· Gender Stereotypes
· Self Esteem
· Healthy Relationships
4TH-6TH GRADE
Late grade school education begins with 5 primary topics. This covers aspects that focus on feelings (especially anger), healthy communication, digital ethics, inclusive behavior and tools of being a helpful bystander.
Topics Include:
· Healthy Communication
· Self-Esteem
· Online Safety
· Gender Stereotypes
· Bystander Intervention
HIGH SCHOOL
High School education centers around 8
primary topics. These topics build on our
Middle School topics going more in depth with our conversation in a age appropriate way.
Topics Include:
· Consent and Sexual Assault
· Sexual Harassment
· Sex Trafficking
· Personal Safety
· Media Responsibility
· Bystander Intervention
· Self-Esteem
· Healthy Relationships
